For over five decades, Miami Dade College has stood as a cultural beacon in Miami. On Friday, March 1, immerse yourself in the vibrant tapestry of MDC's Cultural Affairs programs like never before. Witness a fusion of music, dance, film, and visual arts all under one roof. This event offers the perfect opportunity to savor it all, as we showcase an evening celebrating architecture while embodying the multicultural essence and diverse offerings we are renowned for.
Experience a captivating short film courtesy of the Miami Film Festival. Step into the vibrant world of the Miami Book Fair, where you'll encounter a "literary astrologer", request a personalized poem, and depart with a complimentary Big Read book and tote bag. Extend your journey with a guided tour of the historic Koubek Mansion, an architectural gem steeped in history, led by Miami historian Casey Piket and presented by the Museum of Art and Design (MOAD).
But the night is far from over! The Koubek Center invites you to observe an Afro-Cuban dance class, while for those seeking a lively atmosphere, Live Arts Miami will host Indian Bhangra-themed dance pop-ups where you can fully engage and join in the festivities!

Miami Book Fair "Office Hours"- step into s snapshot of Miami Book Fair's varied programming inspired by Miami Big Read 2024, celebrating author Madeline Miller's novel CIRCE and featuring several interactive opportunities.
Koubek Center Roving Performers - throughout the evening, you'll be surprised and delighted around every corner by a host of playful performers.

Live Arts Miami Indian Bhangra Themed Dance Party- try your hand (or your feet) at Bhangra, a traditional folk dance from the Punjab area of the Indian subcontinent, during a colorful and celebratory dance party!

MOAD Tour of the Koubek Mansion- the Museum of Art and Design and Miami Historian Casey Piket invite you on a journey into the past and through the landmark Koubek Mansion, exploring its timeless elegance and storied history.
7:00 to 9:00 PM
Koubek Center Afro Cuban Dance Class Observation- guests are invited to observe this upbeat class taught by Marisol Blanco who celebrates the songs, steps, beats, and intensity of Cuban folklore and culture with her movements.
