The I-395/ State Road (S.R.) 836/I-95 Design-Build Project will improve three of the city’s key arteries that converge at the S.R. 836/I-395/I-95 (Midtown) Interchange. The Midtown Interchange, with an average daily traffic (AADT) of about 450,000 vehicles, is a crucial junction serving residents and visitors heading to major event venues, tourist attractions, the health district, court facilities, and the lively downtown area, as well as communities like Overtown and Edgewater. The project will feature several firsts for the area, including the double-decking of an elevated S.R. 836 bridge and the construction of an iconic, six-arched signature bridge that will stretch more than 1000 feet over Biscayne Boulevard and NE 2 Avenue.
