About the event
This guided walking tour traces the architectural evolution of Coral Gables through the work of Phineas Paist, one of the city’s most influential architects. Beginning at the historic Colonnade Building, the tour moves through key civic spaces—including City Hall—and concludes at the Coral Gables Museum.
Along the way, participants will explore how Paist’s architectural language developed alongside the city itself, blending Mediterranean Revival ideals with civic grandeur and urban harmony. The experience concludes with a short lecture at the museum, focusing on its architectural significance and cultural role.
Housed in a 1939 Mediterranean Revival landmark, the Coral Gables Museum exemplifies the planning principles that define the city. This tour highlights the museum’s architectural features, history, and mission to preserve and celebrate Coral Gables’ unique identity.
