About the event

Miami Shores Village proudly celebrated its centennial anniversary in 2024 as one of the premier neighborhoods initiated during Miami's 1920's land boom. Join us for a captivating walking tour of the Mediterranean Revival mansions of the Shoreland Company Directors. The Shoreland company was responsible for the initial development of the Village and hired prominent architects like Robert Law Weed, Kiehnel and Elliot, and Marion Manley to realize their vision for "America's Mediterranean". This journey will take you through the heart of Miami Shores' rich cultural and architectural heritage where you'll encounter beautifully preserved houses and buildings, and have the opportunity to tour the interiors of some with local historian and longtime resident John Bachay, and Historic Preservation Board Member Jeffrey Saadeh.

Check-in is at the Brockway Memorial Library at 10021 NE 2nd Ave. Miami Shores. Wear comfortable walking shoes.
